Low-carbon Office Tour Series: Kingfisher Asia Limited - 12 March 2018 [Completed]

Kingfisher Asia and Green Office Design

Kingfisher Asia Limited is the sourcing hub of Kingfisher plc, UK. Employee commuting became a key concern for the company when it moved office in 2016, with its desire to reduce carbon emissions from employee transportation becoming a key factor in the choice of location.

Staff engagement

A working group was formed to tackle the carbon footprint of the new office, comprised of staff members from a variety of departments and the company’s green committee. The green office design boasts a number of environmental features.

Green elements in the design and office facilities

Open plan office, work stations located near windows and meeting rooms with glass walls are used to maximise natural light

Plants are placed around the office to keep the air fresh

- An advanced and sophisticated iDCMini server unit is installed to reduce electricity consumption. Further, LEDs have been used for lighting

- Centralised trash bins and recycling stations were installed to encourage waste separation and recycling practices

and more to discover in the tour…
